What we keep, and how to delete it
In plain words: what Heron stores about you, where, for how long, and how to get it back or remove it.
What we store
- Your career record: your Experience Master, the documents you upload, and your answers to our questions.
- What we make for you: your base resume, tailored resumes and cover letters, recruiter notes, LinkedIn text.
- Your job search: the companies you watch, how we rated each job for you, what you decided, your applications and notes.
- Your account: your email address and name, and a record of what each AI call cost (no text).
Where it is
In one database at our hosting provider (Render), in the US, encrypted at rest, with daily backups. Emails go out through Resend. To rate jobs and write for you, the text involved goes to Anthropic's AI models under their business terms, which don't allow it to be used for training. No one else gets your data, and we don't sell or share it.
How long we keep it
Until you delete your account. Then everything above is deleted at once: your record, files, resumes, packages, job history and email address. Copies in our hosting provider's backups age out within their retention period.

On your Account page, Download everything gives you one zip of all of it, and Delete my account removes it for good. Questions: support@heronjobs.com.
